George Bishop was the warden of the reserve and Whiteslea Lodge. Occasionally George would take Pat to Whiteslea in his boat and on one occasion she stayed there when her Aunt Dora was in residence.
Pat Deane loved Whiteslea - it had so much that she didn’t have at home - a white grand piano, a big log burning fireplace and even a bathroom with a large white bath!

Pat tells us that the electrical points were all high up on the walls as the building flooded so often!
Visitors were told to bring their wellies in case - when they got out of bed - there was water on the floor!
