The arrival of mains electricity and water…
When electricity arrived at Eastfield Farm, an old house probably in about 1620, the old structure of the reed block ceilings had to be taken down to enable the cabling: Paul Borrett says that he has never seen so many mice in his life as came out of the ceiling blocks!
