KATHLEEN’S  MEMORIES:

Swimming in the Broad

What was once artist Roland Green’s mill studio  (hence the unusual lantern top) became the place where all the villagers would go to enjoy swimming in the Broad every summer.

Now the edge of the Broad is a long way away because of the reed  growth, but in those days the water came almost up to the mill and Broad had a gently sloping bed with very clear water.
