63 years ago, when he was 28, Colin bid to the Council to rent Hook Farm, away to the left towards the end of Stubb Road and farmed there all his working life.

Later he bought a few more acres.  He also managed Stubb Farm (close by Hook Farm) for Mrs Youngman when her husband left her.
