In this clip, Mirrie talks about the the death of her father at the every early age of 40, and about how in those days the body was brought home prior to the funeral.

On the day of the funeral it was walked through the village to the church on the bier (hearse) that survives in the church to this day.  The last funeral where the bier was known to be used took place in 1951.

She also talks about the way the big doors at the west end of the church were opened in the summer.
