Summertime Swimming at the Dipping Place

The old mill at the “Dipping Place” still exists.

It got its unusual top when the Hickling artist, Roland Green, used it as a studio.

There was a shallow sandy bay at the Mill and many of the village children would congregate in the water and learn to swim in the summer.

Below:  a view from the top of the Mill showing an inlet from the Broad (taken in April 2019).
