Murray Ferguson had planned to go into marine biology, but the war had other work for him.
When he wasn’t operational, he worked on a farm in Shropshire until the Adjutant General recommended that he went to Norfolk (because “Nobody ever goes there…”) and as a result he landed up in Happisburgh.
