Inky didn’t have too many regular RAF-type duties: he mainly played cricket for the RAF against teams like the Lancashire Second Eleven and Cambridge and Oxford Universities…
After he left the RAF full-time, he was on reserve and could be called back at any time. For this he was rewarded with £8 per year - for the first year only, when this payment was scrapped…
When he left the RAF and returned to Hickling, he got married to Jean and lived in Sutton.
