Inky talks about his birth in Hickling and the family’s subsequent move to Catfield after a fire destroyed the cottage.   

Before long, he came to live with his grandmother in Hickling and we hear of his grandmother and grandfather, Mr and Mrs Myhill, who lived at Grange Farm.  

The land that made up Grange Farm was where we now find Barnfield Close in Hickling.
