Now known as Black Horse Cottage, this was where Pat’s grandmother lived. her grandfather died young (at the early age of 32). He had run a smallholding here, and after the First World War Pat’s uncle developed it into a butchery business.
Her uncle was Harry Markin: he slaughtered and butchered the meat and delivered it all round the area.
