The guest house (now known as Coppice Walk) was the focus for a lot of activity - mainly with family and friends staying there.  Aunt Mabel had a chalet built at the bottom of the garden which was let to paying guests, quite often army wives who wanted to stay near where their husbands were stationed.

There were singsongs round the piano  in the winter and tennis on the lawn in the summer - lots of activity for the young Pat!
