Annual Sports Day and Flower Show
During the summer we had an Annual Sports Day on a meadow atPoplar Farm. Athletes from all the nearby villages came to compete with our Lamberts and Nudds.
A large Flower Show was also part of this day - the heads of celery had to be seen to be believed. The secret of these huge heads lies in the fact that only earth closets were in use and this was buried in a trench across the garden - and what could celery or leeks want better than that!!!
